Türkiye to Require e-Devlet Social Media Age Checks From November

Türkiye will require new social media users to be at least 15 and verify their age through the state e-Devlet portal from 1 November 2026, Biometric Update reported on 12 October. Existing accounts must be verified by 31 March 2027. Platforms receive a yes-or-no age token without identifying information, and users can appeal verification decisions with human review. Opening an account would depend on an age check through a government service.
