Tony Blair Launches Faith Foundation to Unite the World's Religions

BBC News·30 May 2008

On 30 May 2008, former British prime minister Tony Blair launched the Tony Blair Faith Foundation in New York, at the headquarters of Time Warner. The BBC reported its three aims: to promote faith as a force for good, improve awareness between religions and tackle poverty and war. Blair said there was "nothing more important" than creating understanding between different faiths and cultures, and told the audience: "We must be global citizens as well as citizens of our country." Bill Clinton attended the launch. Image: Tony Blair at the World Economic Forum, January 2008. Remy Steinegger / World Economic Forum, CC BY-SA 2.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
