Sanhedrin Calls on Trump and Putin to Back Rebuilding the Temple

On 15 November 2016, Israel National News reported that the Sanhedrin, an attempt to renew the ancient Jewish high court, had written to US president-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Spokesman Prof. Rabbi Hillel Weiss said the letter proposed that the two leaders act jointly as King Cyrus of Persia did 2,500 years ago and back the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem. "We are poised to rebuild the Temple," Weiss said. The letter cited Putin's 2012 night visit to the Western Wall.
