Global Ethic Foundation (Weltethos)·4 September 1993

On 4 September 1993, a century after the first Parliament, the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago adopted a 'Declaration on a Global Ethic' drafted by theologian Hans Küng. According to Küng's Global Ethic Foundation, it set out 'fundamental ethical principles shared by the world's religious and humanist traditions', based on 'humanity' and the Golden Rule, and was signed by many delegates, above all the Dalai Lama.
