Newsweek: Red Cows, Gaza and a Holy War Over the Temple Mount

Newsweek argued that the true epicentre of the war was not Gaza but the Temple Mount. On the Mount, an Israeli prayer leader said that those "fighting in Gaza are actually fighting for the building of the Temple", and the Temple Institute posted: "The Holy Temple - Now, More than Ever!" Third Temple advocates said the architectural designs were ready and red heifers had come from Texas. Hamas leaders, for their part, rallied Palestinians to defend the site. Palestinian academic Adnan Joulani warned: "These are the seeds of conflict and the seeds of the type of fire that could burn the entire Middle East."
