Malaysia's MyDigital ID Becomes Required Login for Selected Public-Service Apps

MyDigital ID had become the sole login for Malaysia's MyJPJ road transport app from 1 May, Biometric Update reported on 18 September 2026. The credential was also required for Malaysians using the MyNIISe immigration app, while passport and manual border routes remained available. Banks were testing integrations, and the report described app failures that sent some users to physical counters. Access to particular government apps now depended on a credential promoted as voluntary.
