Hackers Steal $6.3 Billion From Binance in Largest Crypto Heist on Record

Reuters·30 October 2026

Hackers drained about $6.3 billion from Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, with most of it gone in about 20 minutes on 29 October. Blockchain analysts say the attackers compromised Binance’s signing infrastructure, which authorises transactions, and linked the theft to North Korea. Stablecoin issuers including Tether, Circle and the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial froze roughly half the stolen assets remotely. Binance says customer losses will be covered.
