CommBank Announces Carbon Footprint Estimates for Retail Customers

Commonwealth Bank announced on 26 July 2022 that its retail customers would be able to see a monthly carbon footprint estimate in the CommBank app by early August. Developed with Cogo, the feature used spending data from products including everyday accounts and credit cards and compared estimates with the national average. A pilot had involved more than 250,000 customers. Everyday bank records became the basis for a personal emissions estimate.
