Beijing bans Zion Church after it refuses surveillance cameras

Reuters reporting / Al Jazeera·9 September 2018

Beijing authorities banned Zion Church, one of the city’s largest unofficial Protestant congregations, after months of pressure following its refusal to install closed-circuit cameras. Reuters obtained the district civil-affairs bureau’s Sunday notice, and churchgoers confirmed it. The stated legal ground was unregistered gatherings. Worshippers were directed to officially registered churches, while pastor Jin Mingri said he saw no way to resolve the dispute.
