UN Security Council Backs Gaza Plan and Board of Peace

UN News·17 November 2025

The UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2803 on 17 November 2025 by 13 votes to none, with China and Russia abstaining. It endorsed Trump's Gaza plan, welcomed the Board of Peace as a transitional administration and authorised a temporary International Stabilization Force. The Gaza mandate runs to 31 December 2027, subject to further Council action. The board must report to the Council every six months, and the plan provides for the Palestinian Authority to resume control after reforms.
