The UK has struck a deal with Ukraine's Avengers AI lab to train AI systems on battlefield data, aiming to detect protesters and hostile-state threats at defence sites, railways and energy infrastructure. A pilot uses AI-linked sensors in buried fibre-optic cables to identify movement patterns of people or vehicles, with private firms given MoD-approved access and possible expansion to airports and prisons. This extends persistent, automated identification into civilian infrastructure under a security rationale.
