Trump Tells UN: “We Reject the Ideology of Globalism”

Donald Trump told the UN General Assembly on 25 September 2018: “We reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism.” He defended national sovereignty and criticised the International Criminal Court and international migration arrangements, while saying the UN had unlimited potential. A US president standing at the UN to reject global governance marked a sharp turn from the post-war consensus.
