Trump Predicts Iran War Will End After US Midterms, Vows More Strikes

President Trump said the ongoing US-Iran war will end 'immediately' after November's midterm elections, accusing Tehran of stalling for a more favourable Congress while pursuing a nuclear weapon. The US has already struck Iranian nuclear facilities and, on Tuesday, five Iranian tankers, with Trump promising 'a lot more' strikes as oil prices pushed past $100 a barrel. This unresolved and escalating US-Iran conflict, launched partly over Israel's security, continues to destabilise the region without a diplomatic resolution in sight.
