Trump Orders Sanctions on International Criminal Court

Associated Press / PBS News·6 February 2025

Donald Trump signed an executive order on 6 February 2025 authorising sanctions against the International Criminal Court over its investigations of Israel. The order cited arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant and allowed asset restrictions and entry bans. Neither the US nor Israel recognises the court’s jurisdiction. Washington treated an international court as a threat to its sovereignty, not an authority above it.
