Socure adds Google and Samsung mobile ID verification for US banks

Identity verification firm Socure has added remote mobile driver's licence checks from Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet, following US federal guidance that banks may use qualifying government digital credentials. ABI Research projects US mobile licences will grow from 21.7 million in 2025 to 143 million by 2030, with 21 states already issuing them. Combining state-issued credentials with device and behavioural risk signals moves online identity towards a standardised, phone-based system. That deserves attention because access to financial services is becoming tied to verified digital identity.
