Holy See Declines to Join Trump’s Board of Peace

Cardinal Pietro Parolin said on 17 February 2026 that the Holy See would not participate in Donald Trump’s Board of Peace. The Vatican Secretary of State cited the Holy See’s particular nature and unresolved concerns about the body. He said international crises should be managed above all by the United Nations. The announcement closed the invitation the Vatican had been considering in January, without bringing the Holy See into the new organisation.
