Guterres Issues “UN 2.0” Plan to Modernise the United Nations

António Guterres issued his UN 2.0 policy brief on 12 September 2023, calling for changes to the UN’s skills and working culture. The plan combines data, digital technology, innovation, behavioural science and strategic foresight to support the Sustainable Development Goals. A joint accelerator programme was to begin in 2024. The UN's own answer to its critics was not to step back but to ask for more capability.
