The Democratic Republic of Congo has renewed its pledge to relocate its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, following a visit by President Félix Tshisekedi and a joint statement with Israel. The DRC joins a small but growing list of nations, including the United States, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Paraguay, that have recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital despite UN Security Council resolutions rejecting any change to the city's status. Each such move reinforces Jerusalem's contested but growing international recognition as Israel's capital, a city Scripture repeatedly identifies as central to Israel's covenant identity and future.
