Arab Summit at Khartoum Declares 'No Peace' With Israel

Yale Law School Avalon Project·1 September 1967

Meeting at Khartoum after the Six-Day War, Arab heads of state resolved on 1 September 1967 on "no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it". The same resolution called for political and diplomatic efforts to secure Israeli withdrawal from lands occupied since 5 June. This firm refusal is the baseline against which every later treaty and normalisation deal with Israel is measured.
